It was our intention to build an identification of what our collection represents and to share it, showcasing some of the pieces that comprise it. From among the hundreds of figures, puppets, objects, and props, 83 pieces were selected which, in review, represent the creations made between 2002 and 2024—works that are fundamental to Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, spanning various techniques, materials, scales, and the creatives who conceived them.
Over these 23 years, each puppet was created according to the dramaturgy, with the decision on the manipulation technique, scale, and materials that compose it being left for later — a journey made up of multiple paths. It is a complex but deeply challenging journey, as it entices the artists who build them to embark on paths of discovery, while challenging puppeteers to find new ways to bring each object to life on stage. Thus, each creation becomes an exercise in reinvention. It is, therefore, a journey through time, through the artists who embody this cultural structure, and through the universe of artistic goals that sustain the creations and inhabit the minds of their creators.

The starting point leads us to reflect on the relationship between the archive and the events that confront it, the difficulties, impediments, and challenges to methodological progress. Time converging with history, practices, the public, and emotion converge on the preservation of objects and memory. Emotion interferes with social construction: words such as joy, hope, or fear enter into objects. Everything results from an intimate experience of those who witness the creations, linked to objects in motion. This experience opens up to emotional analysis, deeply related to cultural experience, since cultural experience is always an emotional experience. A connection manifests itself in a plot, in a space, on a stage of inner evolution.
