Puppetry Storytelling

Troy Hourie is an installation artist and scenographer who utilizes interdisciplinary practices to weave puppetry into performance art installations. In this workshop, Troy will introduce participants to his design process for productions such as “The Magic Flute” and “Odditorio,” exploring the use of bold gestures as a technique to evoke a sense of wonder in the spectator.
Following this, participants will work on constructing miniature mock-ups using found and drawn images to build an environment for a Portuguese folktale.
